What am I booking?
A 15-minute Virtual Visit with a licensed family physician, by secure video or phone.
Is this covered by Alberta Health Care?
Yes. Eligible visits are billed as a Virtual Visit under AHCIP. Bring your Alberta health card to booking.
Do I need a family doctor already?
No. Book for virtual family medicine anywhere in Alberta, attached or not.
What can I see a virtual family doctor for?
Common primary care: new symptoms, chronic condition follow-ups, medication questions, mental health concerns, forms, and care planning. Your doctor will let you know if in-person care is better.
Can I get prescriptions, referrals, or lab work?
When clinically appropriate, yes. Prescriptions, requisitions, and referrals can follow your visit.
What do I need for my appointment?
Your Alberta health card, a quiet spot with decent internet or phone reception, and any recent test results or a medication list if you have one.
How do I join my visit?
After booking, you get a link in your patient portal. Join on phone, tablet, or computer. Phone visits are available too.
Can I book from anywhere in Alberta?
Yes. Hello Health serves patients province-wide, as long as you are physically in Alberta at the time of your visit.
Can I become a regular patient here?
Many patients continue with us for ongoing care. Ask during your visit about rostering and what continuity looks like at Hello Health.
Is this for emergencies?
No. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for urgent or life-threatening symptoms.
